FAQs

Why should I hire a pool cleaning service?

In the long run, you save time and money by having a professional pool company maintain your pool. They spot problems early on and help you avoid spending thousands of dollars on major repairs. By cleaning and inspecting your equipment, they also extend the life of your equipment.

What regular maintenance should be done on a pool?

Thorough pool care will ensure clean and safe water throughout the year, which includes:

  • Skimming off leaves and debris
  • Brushing sediment from pool walls
  • Cleaning skimmer and leaf baskets
  • Checking filter and back-washing as needed
  • Testing pool water and adding chemicals.
How often is pool maintenance required?
At minimum, pools require weekly cleaning and care to ensure they stay in good condition, especially in the warmer weather.

Skimming, checking filters, and testing chemicals all lead to a swim-ready pool if done correctly.
How long after pool maintenance can you swim?
It is recommended to wait at least 20 minutes to an hour after adding water balancing chemicals.

You should wait 2–4 hours (or one full cycle through the filter) to swim from the moment you use calcium chloride in your pool.

It is safe to swim once your chlorine levels are around 5 ppm or after 24 hours.
What should you put in pool weekly?
Chlorine kills bacteria and prevents pool algae. Add chlorinating tablets or granules weekly to maintain a clean and clear pool.

For salt pools, add high purity pool salt as well as chlorine products.

Always maintain 1 – 4 PPM of Free Chlorine.
How long should I run my pool equipment?
We suggest your filter system run 6 to 8 hours per day.

When water temperatures start to climb above 80° run the system 8 to 12 hours per day.
Do I need to brush my pool?
Even though most pools are equipped with an automatic pool cleaner, most won’t scrub, especially not thoroughly.

Brushing your pool can help remove algae or any other small particles from the pool’s surface.

Pay special attention to spots where water circulation is a problem (behind ladders, loveseats and corners).
Brush the walls, benches, floor, loveseats and all other pool surfaces once a week.
How often do I need to clean my skimmer and pump baskets?
A dirty or clogged skimmer basket restricts water flow.

If water can’t flow through your skimmer, your pool can’t circulate properly and that could cause problems down the road.

The same is true of your pump basket.

If water is restricted the pump can overheat.

Clean skimmer baskets daily and inspect for cracks, replacing if needed.
Why is it important for my pool chemical and water levels to be correct?
Keeping the right levels in your pool allows for a safe and healthy swimming environment.

Not enough chlorine or chemicals can create a haven for bacteria and create unsanitary conditions.

Too many chemicals can cause a harmful environment and dryness of skin, hair and eyes.
How often should pool filters be cleaned?
The answer to this question can vary depending on the type of filter, but generally, you should clean it once every four to six months.

This should be sufficient as long as you are using the right kind of filter and there aren't extenuating circumstances.

Due to Arizona’s Monsoon season, this frequency could vary due to the amount of dust and debris caused by storms.
