When Equipment Fails

Small problems become expensive fast. A leaking seal floods your equipment pad. A struggling pump burns out completely. A dirty filter damages your circulation system.

We catch most of these during weekly service visits. But when something breaks between visits, we’re here to diagnose and repair it quickly.

What We Repair

We service all makes and models of pool equipment. Single-speed pumps or variable-speed. Salt systems or chlorine feeders. Traditional incandescent lights or modern LEDs.

If it’s part of your pool system, we can fix it.

Pool Pumps

Your pump pulls water from skimmers and drains, pushes it through the filter, and returns clean water to your pool. When it fails, everything stops.

Common pump problems: won’t start, loud grinding noises, leaking seals, weak water flow, motor overheating, capacitor failures.

We repair Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, Sta-Rite, and other brands. Single-speed, dual-speed, and variable-speed pumps.

If your pump is beyond economical repair, we’ll explain replacement options with honest pricing.

Filters

Cloudy water despite proper chemistry usually means filter problems. Sand filters channel. Cartridge filters tear. DE grids fail. Multiport valves leak.

We’ll inspect your filtration system, find the root cause, and provide solutions. Sometimes a repair extends your filter’s life for years. Other times, upgrading to something more efficient makes more sense.

We explain both options and let you decide.

Heaters

Arizona evenings get cool, especially in winter. When your heater stops working, it kills your pool season.

We service both gas and electric heaters. Problems we fix: heater won’t ignite, not reaching temperature, cycling on and off, error codes, pilot light issues, heat exchanger failures.

Modern heaters have sophisticated controls and safety systems. We understand these systems and troubleshoot electronic controls, gas valves, temperature sensors, and flow switches.

Salt Systems

Salt chlorine generators convert salt into chlorine, giving you soft water without harsh chemical effects. When they fail, algae shows up fast.

We work with Hayward AquaRite, Pentair IntelliChlor, Jandy AquaPure, and other brands. Salt cells have limited lifespans—we can test yours to determine if it needs cleaning, repair, or replacement.

Common issues: salt cell scaling, control board problems, flow switch failures, low chlorine production, error codes.

Pool Lighting

Broken lights mean no nighttime swimming. We repair traditional incandescent and modern LED systems.

Problems we fix: lights won’t turn on, flickering, water behind the lens, color-changing LED failures, GFCI breaker tripping, transformer problems.

Pool lighting involves electricity near water. We follow all safety protocols and can upgrade older lighting to energy-efficient LEDs that use less power and last longer.

Automatic Cleaners

Robotic, suction-side, and pressure-side cleaners save hours of manual vacuuming. When they quit, your pool maintenance becomes a chore again.

We service Polaris, Hayward, Dolphin, Pentair, and other manufacturers. Common repairs: cleaner stuck or not moving, poor suction, hose leaks, wheel problems, booster pump issues, filter bag problems.

Sometimes repairs are simple and cheap. Sometimes upgrading makes more sense. We’ll give you honest advice.

Other Equipment

We also repair and service:

Time clocks and timers, pool valves (check valves, diverter valves, actuator valves), plumbing leaks, suction and return line repairs, skimmers and main drains, chlorine and chemical feeders, ozone and UV systems, water feature pumps, automation and control systems (Jandy, Pentair, Hayward).

If something’s broken or not working right, call us. We’ll diagnose it and find the best solution.

Repair or Replace?

This is the question we get most. The honest answer: it depends.

A five-year-old pump with a bad seal is worth repairing. A fifteen-year-old pump that’s been repaired multiple times probably isn’t.

We give you both options with realistic cost comparisons so you can make an informed decision.

Example: Modern variable-speed pumps use 50-80% less electricity than old single-speed pumps. If your old pump needs a $400 repair, investing in a new variable-speed pump might make more sense. It’ll pay for itself in energy savings within a couple years.

We explain these factors clearly. You decide what makes sense for your situation.

How Repairs Work

Call us: Describe what’s happening with your equipment.

We schedule a visit: Most diagnostics are free during regular service hours. Some complex issues need a dedicated diagnostic visit—we’ll tell you upfront if there’s a charge.

Diagnose the problem: We inspect your equipment, test components, and identify what’s wrong.

Explain your options: Repair or replace. We give you realistic cost estimates for both and explain the pros and cons.

You approve the work: We don’t do anything without your approval on cost.

Complete the repair: We fix it right using quality parts from trusted manufacturers. Cheap parts lead to repeated failures.

Warranty the work: All repairs are warranted. Length depends on the specific work done.

What Causes Equipment Failures

Many failures are preventable with proper maintenance.

Low water levels cause pumps to run dry and burn out. Dirty filters force pumps to work harder, shortening their lifespan. Improper chemical balance corrodes heater elements and damages seals.

This is why our weekly maintenance service includes equipment monitoring—we catch small issues before they become expensive repairs.

Arizona’s climate is hard on pool equipment. Intense heat, dust storms, year-round operation. Things wear out faster here than in other parts of the country.

Urgent Repairs

Some failures need immediate attention.

A pump leaking water onto your equipment pad creates electrical hazards. A heater leaking gas is a safety issue. A cracked filter tank floods your yard.

For urgent repairs during business hours, call us right away. We’ll prioritize the situation and respond as quickly as possible.

Why We Do This Work

We’re your neighbors. Family-owned business in the Northwest Valley. We own pools ourselves and understand Arizona pool challenges.

We don’t invent problems. If something can be repaired affordably, we repair it. If replacement makes more sense, we explain why and provide fair pricing.

We want you to trust us with your pool equipment. We earn that trust through honest diagnosis, quality work, and straightforward communication.
